We will be rehearsing on Zoom to start the 2021 DCYO season. As soon as it is safe, we will resume in-person rehearsals at Roseburg First United Methodist Church.
Prelude Orchestra: 4:30-5:00 pm
Concert Orchestra: 5:15-6:00 pm
Philharmonic Orchestra: 6:15-7:00 pm
The Gift of Music Can Last a Lifetime
Learning to play a musical instrument has been shown to improve mathematic, reading and comprehension skills, to boost mood, and to enhance coordination.

The youth orchestra provided access to instruments that we could not get so easily or with such affordability. “My sisters and two brothers played in the Fiddler on the Roof production. Then my sisters and one of the brothers played in a couple chamber concerts. My sisters and I formed a string quartet for about two years after that. I’m now playing in a low strings ensemble. “

“DCYO was a central point of my small world while growing up. I was initially enrolled in the orchestra because it was affordable, simple to join and a great learning environment. The weekly rehearsals were what taught me to play the cello. The rented instrument and progressive classes enabled me to become advanced by anyone’s standards. There was and is no other opportunity like the orchestra within the region. Any person can join, and the diverse environment created was both enjoyable and valuable in those critically developmental years.”
